Westerville Caring and Sharing is an all-volunteer, charitable 501(c)3 organization, started in 1988. We reach out to students and families in need in the Westerville City School District. Our mission is to encourage individuals, businesses, civic, church and school groups in the Westerville, Ohio area to care for the less fortunate and to share their resources of time, funds and energy.
Westerville Caring and Sharing assists students and families that are qualified by the free or reduced lunch program through The Westerville City Schools District (approximately 4,100 students). Many of our families have suffered job losses or layoffs, have been injured, have become ill, are single parent households, or have two parents working at low wages. Our two main projects are Back to School and our Christmas Project.
Our volunteers raise funds necessary to cover all administrative expenses, which is how we are able to assure 100% of all donations benefit Westerville families. Although many people volunteer for our two annual projects,Westerville Caring and Sharing has only a core of ten to twelve year-round individuals who plan and organize these projects.
